  January 27:  Blending Boards with Roy Clemes 

  This is an in-person & Zoom meeting, weather permitting. Roy will be joining us via Zoom.

  Learn how to use a Blending Board from one of its original designers! In 2011, Roy and his father Henry, Clemes & Clemes in Pinole, created a new tool that became the wildly popular Blending Board. This demonstration will show the versatility of the blending board - blending fibers of various types, lengths, and colors - but also the strength of the blending board - quickly preparing fiber as rolags for woolen spinning.  Wool, mohair, alpaca, cotton, feathers, dog hair, shredded silk fabric, cut yarn, odds and ends from other projects – your imagination is the only limiting factor.

  February 24:  Texture in Crochet with Megan Lapp

  In her presentation, Megan Lapp will take us through the evolution of how she came to design crochet patterns and her experience in the arts and fiber art space.  She'll also give an indepth look at the crochet pattern designing process.  Following the presentation, Megan will do her best to answer any questions anyone might have about her work, her experience, her process, and anything crochet-related that you'd like to know more about.

  March 24:   Texture in Yarn with Kristen Truesdail

  Kristen Truesdail, a freestyle weaver, uses a diverse range of textures available to fiber artists to create her designs. The artist behind Art Fiber Frenzy, she curates various yarns into project kits for weavers, and these same fibers are transformed into ready-to-use full skeins for knitters and crocheters. You’ll find multiple examples of multi-textured projects to inspire you to create your own.

  Kristen will share her journey, from learning to weave to offering her own kits and skeins to others in just a few short years.

  Join us for an exciting experiment with yarn mixing, where you can bring your mini looms, needles, hooks and scissors. Kristen will generously provide an abundance of yarns for you to explore and create your own unique designs. We’ll also have an opportunity to start a small project using water-soluble papers and yarns.

  This is an in-person & Zoom meeting.
