Join us at Second Saturday social at the Nevada County Library Community Room, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Our regular fiber circle will be there for socializing, spinning, knitting, crocheting and other fiber fun. Bring a portable project and join us at Second Saturday!
As an added bonus: Jane is holding a meeting of the Kumihimo Study Group in the library during Second Saturday in the Community Room.
From Jane, "I am attempting to learn how to braid Andean Sling Braids out of both of Rodrick Owen's Andean Sling Braid books. (Check them out on Amazon.com.) These are way cool square braids and are braided on square disks or on a Marudai.
I have 7 square disks ($6.50 each) available and a few leftover bobbins from last time. I'll bring my stash of Omega Sinfonea for all sorts of color choices. (Free for members!)
Please bring scissors, and as many bobbins as you have, and if you already have a square disk, please bring it. We'll mostly be working on 8 strand braids to start. By starting out with the 8 ends, you will learn how to read Rodrick's patterns, and these small braids are used for the finger loop of the sling. Most sling braids are 16 or 24 ends).
Hope you can come...see you Saturday!"
