Matchless Single Treadle Spinning Wheel

This spinning wheel has been tuned up and spins well. It comes with four bobbins, whorls, base for the lazy kate, carrying strap.

From the Schacht website, "The single treadle Matchless was our first spinning wheel, released in 1987 and discontinued in 2020. Its double treadle version (released in 1995) remains in production.

Both styles of Matchless have gone through changes over the years:

This 20 ounces of pin drafted roving was prepared by Morro Fleeceworks from Lindsey Cleveland's sheep, Daisy. The Corriedale breed was originally a cross between Merino and Lincoln sheep which produced a 1/2 blood (half merino) fleece with at least a 4-inch staple length. This wool is especially desirable because the yarn spun from it is both soft and strong.
