Louisa Hunter and Jeannie Kaiser introduced attendees at the April guild meeting to the beautiful possibilities of natural dyes and botanical print. They discussed the essential elements of botanical printing and how to achieve clear, colorful, and crisp prints. They shared their studio set up, their exploration of various processes used to get desired results, and samples of their finished pieces. Needed supplies were discussed and a handout of sources was provided.
Jeannie and Louisa are planning a workshop for FFG members this summer. Keep an eye out for more details when dates have been determined.
