November 24 - Make and Take meeting: Cube Stars with Jane Milner

This is an in-person meeting.

Doors open at 6:15 PM, meeting starts at 6:45 PM

We will be learning how to make Cube Stars from precut papers with your choice of colors. These are really cute and fun to make.

I first saw these at the Stowe Basketry Festival years ago (prior to the pandemic).  One of our Danish Willow instructors quickly showed us how to make one.  The original one was made of willow bark.  Anne  Mette made it so quickly that I shook my head and said, “wait, what”? So I didn’t get it.  A year later, she posted a series of photos on her Facebook page about how to make these.  Her’s were always made from willow bark, as that’s what she has in abundance.  She makes lots of these, and attaches them to her gifts.  She said on her post, that you could google “cube stars” and YouTube and you could find a video of the process. I did both, made them from leftover papers from making Froebel Stars several Christmases ago.  That led to my photographing the steps, which will be your pattern.

Materials fee is $5.00, covers all supplies (you don’t need to bring anything!)

The “Make and Take” meeting is a mini workshop at our normal meeting time, November 24 at 6:45pm (doors open at 6) in the Nevada City Madelyn Helling Library community room.

Guests are welcome to attend one meeting free of charge prior to joining the guild.
