Guild Challenge 2023-2024:  Lose Your Head and Learn a New Skill!


Thirteen challenge projects were shared at the guild's June Potluck Picnic.

  • Wendy brought her first every tapestry weaving, still on her new Mirrix loom. 
  • Kate wove a tapestry inspired by a photo.
  • Gretchen shared her wonderfully absorbent towels, her second ever warp on her loom.
  • Ingrid designed a scarf based on the number 10. 
  • Mary wove two bracelets - her first ever projects on a bead loom.
  • Donna S. learned to felt and went wild making scarves, wraps, mitts, a hat, and a purse. 
  • Diane made a felted bath mat that looks exactly like stones. 
  • Meredith felted an album cover.
  • Simona learned to knit and turned her first swatch into a darling bunny.
  • Kathy knit her first pair of socks.
  • Sheryl designed her first knit cowl shrug.
  • Beth learned to spin, specifically to make art yarn.
  • Meredith spun her very own sheep's wool.

Many thanks to these members for meeting the challenge and sharing their wonderful projects with us at the picnic.

Guild Challenge 2021-22

The challenge was to use the three colors each guild member was randomly assigned in any sort of spinning, weaving, knitting, crocheting, felting, fiber raising and processing, basket making, dyeing, and wearable art project.

Twenty members submitted projects that were featured in a slide show at our Annual Picnic, via Zoom. The following photo was submitted by Jane Milner who finished the towels Debbie Scott started for the challenge.

2020/40th Anniversary Guild Challenge

The challenge was to create something inspired by a photograph. Ten members submitted projects which were presented in a slide show via Zoom at our monthly meeting on September 22, 2020.
